What May Require a Correction

  • An outdated price, plan, limit, or compatibility statement
  • An incorrect file-format explanation
  • An incorrect date, product name, or attribution
  • A broken or unsafe external link
  • A misleading security or privacy statement
  • An unsupported professional claim
  • A material omission affecting the meaning of a guide

Minor Editorial Changes

Minor changes may be made without a public correction notice when they do not materially change the meaning of the content.

These changes may include:

  • Spelling and punctuation corrections
  • Formatting improvements
  • Mobile-display corrections
  • Readability improvements
  • Replacing a broken link with an equivalent source

Substantive Corrections

When a meaningful error is identified, we may:

  • Correct the inaccurate statement
  • Update an instruction, feature, price, or platform limitation
  • Add missing privacy or security context
  • Replace an unreliable source
  • Clarify the scope of a guide
  • Remove unsupported content
  • Add an editorial or correction note

Urgent Privacy or Security Concerns

Reports involving unsafe downloads, exposed credentials, malware, compromised links, confidential files, security vulnerabilities, or serious privacy concerns receive particular attention.

Do not send passwords, API keys, private system information, customer records, or confidential documents when reporting a concern.

How to Report an Error

Use our Contact Us page and include:

  • The page title or URL
  • The statement, instruction, or section involved
  • A clear explanation of the issue
  • The relevant software, platform, version, and date
  • A reliable supporting source, when available

Our Review Process

  1. We locate and review the relevant page.
  2. We compare the report with available sources.
  3. We determine whether the issue is factual, technical, editorial, or a difference in platform configuration.
  4. We correct, clarify, update, retain, or remove the content as appropriate.

Commercial Correction Requests

Advertisers, software providers, agencies, and other organizations may report factual errors.

A commercial relationship does not guarantee that a requested editorial change will be accepted.

Response Times

We aim to review legitimate reports but cannot guarantee an individual response or specific completion time.
